Why We’re Immeasurably Grateful This Year

This year has been filled with excitement and challenges that have made all of us at AlwaysCare and Starmount Life acutely aware of all we have to be grateful for.

Earlier this year, when we announced that we were going to be acquired by Unum, you could feel the excitement and anticipation of what lay ahead. At the time, there was no way of predicting what kind of impact this merger would make on the Starmount family.

A few weeks later, our home office region experienced a historic flood, leaving thousands without homes, cars and the things that make life so sweet. In the wake of evacuations and damage reports, we realized that many members of our Starmount family had been uprooted from their homes and needed our help getting back on their feet. We got to work and soon realized that we were not alone; help came pouring in. Our new colleagues at Unum rushed to our aid, along with dental and vision providers, agent and broker partners, and companies we’ve worked closely with over the years. The generosity we witnessed as wave after wave of donations came in for our employees was astounding.

While we’re now back to business as usual at the office, we cannot forget the support we’ve received this year. Our employees are the heart of this company – we’re a family. Your kindness and generosity was the driving force to help our family toward the road of recovery, and what keeps us striving to exceed expectations.

As we look towards the New Year, we are excited to be a part of Unum, grateful to work with and for partners like you, and more eager than ever to surpass our clients’ expectations.
